A volunteer subgroup of RTPOs and MPOs and WSDOT looked into identifying a common set of tools to prioritize local projects and programs for near-term legislative funding. They considered current RTPO and MPO prioritization practices.

To support this effort, WSDOT lead research of how RTPOs/MPOs currently prioritize transportation investments.

This work took place over the 2021-23 biennium, mostly between November 2021 and September 2022.

The Strategy A subgroup identified the following next steps:

• Focus on local and regional alignment
